Pathlight Dancer: Lucie Pasche

Lucie is a sports lover (especially the Boston Red Sox) and natural athlete and has been involved with Special Olympics since she was eight years old. She was elected a co-captain of her high school track team and competed in the 50 m dash, the long jump and shotput. She loves to dance, to sing, enjoys music of all kinds and is taking guitar lessons. Like both Alex and Noel, Lucie has ties to Holyoke; her mother and aunts and uncles grew up there. She can’t wait to find a good job and to move out into the community.

Lucie, a member of the Milestones community, says, “I like the music classes and cooking meals after shopping for food. I also like going to the YMCA as a group and exercising or swimming. I love to swim, play basketball, hang out with friends and go on bike rides. I also like walks, and people tell me I have a good sense of humor!” In reply to why she wanted to participate in Let’s Dance!, she said, “Because I love to dance!”

Community Dancer: Alex Morse, 44th Mayor of Holyoke
Alex Morse was born and raised in Holyoke and is a proud product of the city’s public schools. He is an alumnus of Brown University with a degree in urban studies, becoming the first in his family to graduate from college. On January 3, 2012, he was sworn in as the youngest mayor in the history of the city of Holyoke at the age 22. Has been reelected twice. On January 4, 2015, he was sworn in for his third term.

Instructor: Noel St. Jean-Chevalier
Noel is a dancer and choreographer from Holyoke, MA. She instructs dancers of all ages, and is on faculty at Elms College and Artistic Dance Conservatory. When not in the studio, Noel enjoys traveling throughout New England performing with her contemporary dance company, The Legible Bodies. She is so happy to be working with Lucie and Alex, sharing her love for dance… and learning a few new moves from Lucie!

Noel says, “When Ashley asked me to be a part of this project, there was no hesitation. I knew immediately that this would be a great experience. Creating dances is my passion, and sharing the fun with new people is exciting and rewarding. Alex, Lucie, and I work hard in rehearsal, but we also find laughter and silliness which drives our creativity.”
